Game Recap

Tuesday night the #6 Greensburg Pirates traveled to William A Garrett Gymnasium, home of the Shelbyville Golden Bears. It didn’t take the Pirates long to make it feel like home of their own as they burst out to a 17-6 lead after the first quarter of play. Following up the first period with a strong second, the Pirates controlled a 35-16 lead into the locker room at half.

3 Different Pirates went on to score more than 12 points each as the team cruised to a 78-46 lead, their 4th Win of the season. Offense was also plentiful Tuesday evening in favor of the Blue and White. The Pirates shot a total of 31/53 (58%) on the night and 22 of those 31 made field goals were assisted.

Rhegan Day led the team with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Kyra Whitaker and Aliyah Evans both contributed 12. Bailey Meyer and Micha Morrison both had 9 points, Meyer with 6 assists in the process. Kiersten Lynette chipped in 8 points and 6 rebounds. In total, 10 Pirates scored.

The JV Pirates moved their record to 2-1 after a 29-21 Victory. The JV Pirates were led by Grace Crist with 9 and Cam Jones with 8 points and 5 rebounds.

A busy weekend approaches for the Pirates with 2 games on tap. Friday night, the South Decatur Cougars will travel to Greensburg. The Pirates will then hit the road Saturday as they head to Jennings County for a match up with the 2-1 Panthers.
