Meet Recap

Greensburg travled to South Dearborn on Monday to face the Knights. South Dearborn swept the singles to win the match 3-2. At #1 Singles, Raegan Rigney dropped her match to Madison Fentress 7-6(3), 6-3. At #2, Bailey Menkedick lost to Sydney Yoe 6-2, 6-1. At #3, Julia Pacilio was defeated by Madison Zoller 6-4, 6-4. The Pirates were able to win both doubles matches with Elaine Welage/Claudia Westhafer teaming up to defeat Samantha Fisher/Skylar Lane 6-3, 6-2 at #1 Doubles. At #2, Kirsten Fong/Emma Hellmich defeated Brooklyn Comer/Lacey Horn 6-2, 6-1.
In JV play, Ellie Burkhart won the only singles match for Greensburg as she defeated Miranda Kilvington 6-4. In doubles, Emma Nobbe/Sarah Schneider split their two matches winning 6-4, and then dropping a 7-6 set. Ellie Burkhart/Hannah Redmon teamed up and dropped two sets 6-4, 6-1.
“It’s very early in the season and we are still looking for a line-up that we are comfortable with. South Dearborn just wanted to win this match more than we did, and I take my hat off to them. Coach Krause & Coach Denmure have done a nice job with the Knights”. With the loss, Greensburg moves to 1-1 on the season.
