Greensburg High School
Franklin County High School
For the 3rd day in a row, Greensburg was on the road in girls tennis. Thursday evening the Pirates travled the curvey roads to find the Franklin County courts. When the dust settled, the Wildcats had come away with a EIAC victory 4-1.
Getting the Lady Pirates lone victory was Ellie Acra at #3 Singles where she over came Tori Volk 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-4). At #1 Singles, Raegan Rigney lost to Lilli Stewart 6-4, 7-5. At #2 Singles, Bailey Menkedick dropped her contest to Megan Routh 6-2, 6-3. In doubles action, Elaine Welage & Julia Pacilio lost to Kelsey Ball/Lauren Klei 6-3, 6-1, and at #2 Doubles, Kirsten Fong & Claudia Westhafer lost to Grace Moster/Meredith Bohman 7-5, 7-5. “I would like to sugar coat it, but the fact is we just did not play well. I am hoping now with a couple of days without matches we can regroup”.
In JV, Sarah Schneider won her singles match 7-6.
The Lady Pirates are on the road again Monday for a make-up date with East Central.
