On a wet and windy Wednesday evening, the Lady Pirates travled to Lawrenceburg and came away with a 4-0 conference win. The Pirate doubles teams go off to a great start to set the tone for the match. Kirsten Fong & Claudia Westhafer jumped out to a 5-0 lead at #2 before a short rain delay stopped action. Elaine Welage & Julia Pacilio were nearly as good as they raced out to a 4-1 lead at the same point. After about a 20 minute delay, the teams were put back on court. Both doubles teams picked up right where they left off with both winning the first set. The second sets saw the home team pick up a few games, but the Pirates would not let them back into the match with Welage/Pacilio winning 6-1, 6-3 and Fong/Westhafer winning 6-0, 6-2.
With two points in hand, all that was needed was one win from the three singles matches to wrap up the team match. With the constant threat of more rain looming, Ellie Acra provided that needed third win for the Pirates as she closed out her match with a 6-4, 6-1 win.
With the overall match win in hand, it bacame a race to finish the remaining two matches. At #1 Singles, Raegan Rigney was able to finish with a 6-1, 6-1 victory. Bailey Menkedick could not beat the rain as her match at #2 Singles was suspended when the second rainfall ended all activities.
In JV, Emma Hellmich & Sarah Schneider won their doubles match 6-3
