Meet Recap

East Central hosted its 40th Annual Cross Country Invitational Tuesday evening. The Lady Pirates won the team championship with 37 pts. The win moved the girls’ record to 29-0 after five meets. They were led by the 1-2 finish of Brenner Hanna and Cathy Newhart. Hanna won her fourth race of the season and broke the 20:00 barrier for the first time. She crossed the finish line in a time of 19:58.6. Newhart took second place in 20:40. Cameron Jones recorded her fastest time of the season. She ran 21:32 to take 7th. Mollie Pumphrey placed 12th in 22:24. Hilary Ernstes and Olivia Colson took 15th and 16th, respectively. Ernstes had a time of 22:58 while Colson ran 22:59.5. Charlotte Anderson earned 28th place in 24:53.

In the reserve girls’ race, Cheaney Jones was the first finisher for Greensburg. She came in 4th with a time of 24:54. Molly Brandes took 8th place in 25:27, her best time of the season. Morgan Winkler was 10th in 26:45, and Claire Burford placed 20th in 32:52.
