Game Recap

The Greensburg Pirates visited the Franklin County Wildcats Thursday night and lost 9-4. The Pirates came out to a slow start, defensively allowing 4 Wildcat goals in the first 18 minutes of action. The rest of the half, Greensburg picked up the intensity and were able to shut out the Wildcats for the final 22 minutes of the first half. The second half started much of the same for the Pirates defensively, allowing a couple goals within the first several minutes of the half, but were able to pick it up offensively in the last 25 minutes. Nicholas Zapfe started the scoring for the Pirates, his first of the year, off the assist from Junior midfielder Vincent Pavy. Joseph Pacilio registered his second hat trick (3 goals) of the season, with two of those goals unassisted and one of those goals coming off an assist from Vincent Pavy. Other standouts for the Pirates were sophomore Collin Springmeyer, who registered 5 shots as a defender and Junior Trevor Lee who played solid defense all the way through for Greensburg.
