Game Recap

The Greensburg Lady Pirates celebrated Senior Night Thursday evening and played their best all-around match of the season. Unfortunately, the effort, desire and passion were not enough to overcome a solid Shelbyville squad. The visitors netted their first goal of the game 11 minutes in and added a second 1st half goal 15 minutes later for a 2-0 halftime lead. In the second half, the Lady Golden Bears scored in the first 35 seconds and then scored two goals in the final six minutes for a 5-0 win. The loss drops the Lady Pirates to 1-10 on the season. Again, the total team effort was outstanding along with field communication and spacing.
Keepers Emily Lowe and Keirsten Lynette shared the keeper duties with Lowe making 5 saves and Lynette saving 4. Abby Scheumann, Sara Brown, Sierra Huffman and Kaelyn Spears recorded shot for the Lady Pirates. A big thank you to the nine seniors and their families. Those seniors are: Sara Brown, Erika Fixmer, Katelynn Hall, Emma Hellmich, Emily Lowe, Keirsten Lynette, Kenzie Redelman, Abby Scheumann, and Montana Whitaker.
The team will be in action Saturday when they travel to Rushville for a 10 AM EIAC match.
