Greensburg had three finishers in the top ten in their first meet of the season Thursday evening at home. The Pirates defeated North and South Decatur but lost to Batesville.
Hunter Butz led the Pirates taking 3rd in 18:15. Freshman Kole Stephens took 6th in 19:29, and Eric Million came in 8th overall with a time of 19:43. A trio of freshman was next for Greensburg. Sawyer Sanders used a strong finish for 11th in 20:30, Jonathon Ralston was 12th in 20:34, and Andrew Johnson took 13th in 20:41.
Senior Dylan Brown was Greensburg’s 7th runner. He crossed the finish line in 22nd with a time of 22:36. Skylar Westerfeld was 23rd in 22:43. Caden Workman came in 26th in 23:09 with teammate Alex Henderson next in 23:34. Sean Slagle followed in 28th overall in 23:42. Chris Berkemeier placed 32nd in 24:01. Bryan Bockover finished 34th in 24:16. Dylan Gauck was 37th in 25:13. Josh Schneider came in 41st in 25:40, and Blaine Schroeder placed 42nd in 26:28.
