The Greensburg cross country team traveled to Nashville, IN on Saturday morning to race at the Eagle Classic Invitational. Despite the mud and the rain, Greensburg raced really well participating in four of the seven races.
The Pirate boys competed in the AA Varsity race and placed 10th out of 24 teams in the large school division. Hunter Butz was the top finisher for Greensburg. He came in 8th place overall in a time of 19:00. Kole Stephens took 24th in 19:55. Eric Million came in 50th with a time of 20:38. Andrew Johnson had his best race of the season. He crossed the line in 62nd in 20:52. Other Pirate finishers included Sawyer Sanders (93rd), Jonathon Ralston (108th), and Dylan Brown (137th).
In the reserve race, the Pirates placed 17th out of the 18 complete teams. After the previous six races left the course a muddy mess, the Pirates raced well against over 300 other competitors. Chris Berkemeier was the top finisher for Greensburg. He was 148th in 24:28. Bryan Bockover returned from injury and took 168th. Caden Workman was 214th, and Dylan Gauck placed 228th. Other Greensburg runners were Jaxson Kramer 254th, Skylar Westerfeld (269th), Josh Schneider (281th), Blaine Schroeder (298th), and Jeremiah Cohee (315th).
