The Greensburg girls’ cross country team competed in the Elite Race at the Eagle Classic on Saturday morning. They raced well with 7 of the 8 athletes finishing with their fastest time of the season. Sophomore Brenner Hanna paced Greensburg with an 11th place finish. She broke 20:00 for the first time this season. Emily Mangels also had a strong race. She placed 61st in 21:41, her best time ever for 5 km. Liz Pavy was Greensburg’s #3 finisher on Saturday crossing the line in 22:49 for 95th place.
Olivia Colson continued to improve taking 101st in 23:00. Sophie Nobbe lowered her personal best to 23:29 and came in 105th. Mollie Pumphrey returned from injury and raced for the first time this season. She was 118th in 24:14. Emma Wilmer recorded a new personal best of 24:59 for 126th. Kayla Haycock also had her fastest time ever for 5 km on Saturday finishing in 25:53 for 133rd.
In the reserve competition, freshman Sophie Taylor was the top Lady Pirate finisher. She broke 30:00 for the first time taking 107th in 28:53. Molly Brandes was 160th in 30:17. Mallory Gaddis finished with her best time ever. She crossed the finish line in 30:25 for 164th. Charlotte Anderson was 196th in 31:32. Sarah Sanitago took 208th in a personal best time of 32:00. Morgan Winkler placed 230th in 33:19.
