Greensburg played host to South Dearborn on Friday evening and the Lady Pirates came out on top of a 4-1 score.
The Pirates jumped out to early leads in nearly every match to set the tone for the match. At #1 Singles, Raegan Rigney won a hard-fought first set 6-4 over the defending MVP of the EIAC, Madison Fentress only to see Fentress turn the tables in set number 2 by a 6-2 score. In the third and final set, Fentress built a 5-2 lead but could not close Rigney out. Rigney, playing with a new found desire, came all the way back and won in a tie-breaker 7-6 (4). At #2 Singles, Ellie Acra also played a hard-fought first set, losing 6-4 to Sydney Yoe. Yoe closed out the match with a 6-0 win in set 2. At #3 Singles, Emma Hellmich defeated Ashley Stevenson 6-3, 6-2. Hellmich just played a solid, steady match in her victory. In Doubles action, Kirsten Fong/Bailey Menkedick got off to a fast start building a 5-1 lead before losing a bit of focus and winning the first set 7-5 over Brooklyn Cromer/Emily Seward. In set number 2, the Pirate duo would not lose focus, winning 6-1. At second doubles, Claudia Westhafer/Sarah Schneider coasted to a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Lacey Horn/Danielle Martini.
In JV play, Olivia Colson won 8-0 and Riya Patel won 8-6 in singles while Emma Nobbe/Aliyah Evans won 6-2 in doubles.
