Greensburg Track and Field Girls hosted Jennings County and South Dearborn Tuesday night. The Lady Pirates placed 2nd with 56 points to the Panthers 81 and the Knights 30. Despite the less favorable temperatures there were many highlights of the evening. One of the most impressive performances came from Freshman Brenner Hanna as she set a new school record, 5:19.2, in the 1600m. The previous record was set in 2016 by Shelby Pake. Hanna was also the individual champion in the 3200 as well as part of the 1st place 4×800 relay team.
The distance crew made a clean sweep in the mile with Hanna leading and Cameron Jones and Cathy Newhart taking 2nd and 3rd. Hanna and Newhart also went 1, 2 in the 3200. Another big moment of the evening came from junior thrower Lily Grimes who threw a new PR in Discus with a 119’7.5 toss putting her 6th on the Top Ten List. All the Ladies did great and despite the chilly temps, many had personal best performances.
