Greensburg Lady Pirates Soccer started the evening out once again honoring some of Greensburg Community High School faculty. Senior Teni Kramer honored her Influential Faculty Member Steve Holland. She explained “I was forced out of my comfort zone, especially in writing, and I think that made me become not only a better student but also a better person. I cannot thank him enough for pushing me to be better and for making class enjoyable.”
Senior Hilary Ernstes also invited Nicole Batta to be recognized. Ernstes said “The educator of the year is an understatement when it comes to this crazy teacher. Batta, you deserve everything truly amazing in life and nothing less, and I’m sure that anyone here could agree with me. You’re an amazing teacher and you’re gonna do so many great things for kids in the future.”
Thank you, Mr. Holland and Ms. Batta, for being a mentor to our community.
The visiting Spartans were stunned early. Only four minutes ran off the clock and Greensburg found the first point of the game. Some great team passing escorted the ball downfield where Emily Rosales made the goal. Five minutes later the Spartans tied the game. The Lady Pirates found themselves down 3-1 at the half.
The second half would again show a good passing game from the Pirates. An assist from Mykenzi Morlan would again find Emily Rosales for her second point of the game. This would prove to not be enough and the Pirates fell to the Spartans 5-2.
Keeper Ella Lowe was met with 33 shots on goal and managed to stop all but 5.
This brings the Pirates to 5-9 on the season and 1-6 in the conference. The last regular-season game is this Saturday against Triton Central at home. Come out and cheer on the Ladies. Game time is 10 am.
