Girls Varsity Golf · Lady Pirates suffer first loss of the season

  Place Points
Greensburg High School 2nd 183

The Greensburg Girls Golf Team hosted both Columbus schools in the front nine of Greensburg Country Club on Wednesday night. The Pirates suffered their first loss of the season to Columbus North, but beat Columbus East to take second in the meet. Greensburg is now 15-1 on the season with only the EIAC meet and the post-season remaining. Kennedy McCullough led the Pirates with a 42 and Claire Dennett shot a 43. The rest of the scoring came from Ellie Acra and Rachel Nobbe with matching 49s. Maddy Wickens 50, Meghan Stapp 54, and Regan Swango 61 also competed. Unfortunately due to numbers, varsity stalwart Megan Reisman was unable to compete. Medalist for the match was Nathaly Munnicha of Columbus North with a 37.

Prior to the match, five Pirate seniors were honored for their commitment to the golf team over the past four years. Claire Dennett, Maddy Wickens, Rachel Nobbe, Regan Swango, and Meghan Stapp ended their regular season at home, and will be sorely missed next season. A special shoutout goes to the numerous fans and families who came out to support these girls.

The Lady Pirates will look to build upon their 17-stroke lead in the EIAC Tournament at Dearborn Country Club tomorrow night.
